Approval and test specification - Electrical portable outlet devices

Specifies electrical safety requirements, to be read in conjunction with NZS/AS 3100. Applies to devices which have a single means of connection to a low voltage supply (either flexible cord and plug, or appliance inlet), and one or more outlet facilities, and may incorporate a cord reeling or coiling arrangement. Provides for use of socket outlets to AS 3112, and for lampholders, and allows for switching and overcurrent protection to be incorporated. Does not apply to cord extension sets having a single outlet and no coiling arrangement (see NZS/AS 3199), nor to socket-outlet adapters (AS/NZS 3122), nor to separate devices for storage of electrical cords.
