Health
With New Zealanders lives and wellbeing relying on the health sector, standards are a critical tool to ensuring good practice when you need it most.
The health sector relies on international and Joint Australian/New Zealand standards to underpin the quality and reliability of the tools used across the gamut of services; from occupational health, x-ray equipment and mobility aids to record-keeping, protective personal equipment and sterilisation products to name just a few.
The recent consolidation of four standards into NZS 8134:2021 Ngā Paerewa Health and disability services standard has led the way for modern culturally responsive and consistent practice to benefit the lives of thousands of New Zealanders across the country.
The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) is committed to supporting the UN Sustainable Development Goals, including SDG 3, which covers good health and wellbeing.
