This joint standard was developed in conjunction with Standards Australia (SA) who advised us that the standard was reviewed and resulted in a new Australian (AS) only standard AS 60601.2.6:2018. However this edition will remain current within New Zealand. For the most up to date Australian standards, visit www.standards.org.au.

Provides requirements for the safety of microwave therapy equipment used in medical practice. Does not apply to equipment specified for hyperthermia. Adopts IEC 60601-2-6:1984 with national modifications.
