This joint standard was developed in conjunction with Standards Australia (SA) who advised us that the standard was reviewed and resulted in a new Australian (AS) only standard AS ISO/IEC 13818.7-2005. However this edition will remain current within New Zealand. For the most up to date Australian standards, visit www.standards.org.au.

Provides a specification for an audio standard for five full-bandwidth channel audio signals at data rates of 320 kb/s. This specification is not backward compatible with the specification in AS/NZS 13818.3 (MPEG-2). This Standard is identical with and has been reproduced from ISO/IEC 13818-7 and ISO/IEC 13818-7/Corrigendum 1:1998.
